Safety Investigation Authority

The Safety Investigation Authority, Finland has decided to initiate a safety investigation according to the Safety Investigation Act (525/2011) into a serious incident which occurred at Mariehamn airport on 14 February 2012.

A SAAB 340 cargo aircraft operated by RAF-AVIA on Nordflyg flight NEF021 flew well below normal approach altitude during final approach.

Mr. Risto Timgren is appointed as a team leader of investigation group. The member of the investigation group is Mr. Hannu Halonen. Chief Air Safety Investigator Mr. Ismo Aaltonen is appointed as the investigator in charge.
