L2021-05 Collision of a commercial aircraft with a lamp post at the Kemi-Tornio airport on 5 December 2021
The Safety Investigation Authority, Finland, has decided to initiate an investigation under section 2 of the Safety Investigation Act (525/2011) into the accident that occurred at the Kemi-Tornio Airport on 5 December 2021. The Cessna 560XL Citation Excel aircraft of the Air Charter Scotland airline parked on the apron came off the chocks while the engines were being warmed and collided with a lamp post.
Kalle Brusi, Master of Science, is appointed as the Head of the Investigation Team, and commercial pilot (retired) Heikki Kasurinen as well as Tuomas Tuisku, Master of Science (Technology, aeronautics), are appointed as members. Chief Air Safety Investigator Janne Kotiranta will serve as the Investigator-in-Charge.
