Specify the instructions on EFHK segregated parallel operations

Segregated parallel operations (one runway reserved for arrivals and the other runway for departures) are used on a daily basis at Helsinki-Vantaa. However, segregated parallel operations are not regulated at the same degree of specificity as in-dependent parallel approaches. In the Helsinki ATC Ops Manual the latter provide, among other things, instructions on achieving separation between a “threatened” aircraft (closer than 3 NM) and an aircraft that has deviated from its approach course.

Safety Investigation Authority, Finland recommends that Finavia Corporation specify the instructions on segregated parallel operations with regard to when the criteria of segregated parallel operations are no longer met.
