The Safety Investigation Authority, Finland has decided to initiate a safety investigation according to the Safety Investigation Act (525/2011) into an accident which occurred during an aborted take-off. The aircraft was substantially damaged when the RH wing hit the water. The accident occurred in Kuopio, Finland on 4 July 2015. The aircraft involved was Cessna 185C OH-EHD.
There were one pilot and four passengers on board on a sightseeing flight.
Mr. Timo Heikkilä, air traffic controller, ret. is appointed as a team leader of investigation group. The members of the investigation group are Mr. Hannu Hänninen D.Sc. (Econ.) and Mr. Petri Koistinen, D.Sc. (Econ.), MA Psych. Chief Air Safety
Investigator Mr. Ismo Aaltonen is appointed as the investigator in charge.
