The Accident Investigation Board of Finland has decided after a preliminary investigation to initiate an investigation into the grounding of passenger vessel KING off Helsinki on 18 August 2011.

The Maritime Safety Investigator Risto Repo was appointed as investigator-in-charge for the case and investigator M.Sc.(Tech) Ville Grönvall was appointed as investigator.
