On Monday 30 September 1996, on a private industrial railway yard, a member of a train crew died having been run over by a freight car which he had just uncoupled from a freigt train. The fatal accident occurred to a member of the train crew of the industrial plant when the train crew was uncoupling and moving freight cars with their own locomotive from VR’s railway yard to the freight-car unloading locations.
