Incident

Completed

On Thursday, 21 March 1996, two fast trains running in the same direction ended up on the same non-blocked train dispatching section between the Masala and Kirkkonummi stations. The incident was a result of a train dispatcher giving a second train a green signal (i.e. a permission to proceed, before the first train had arrived at the next train dispatching point) having obtained the respective permission from his colleague at the next train dispatching point. When the colleague said that he would advise him of the arrival of the train, he immediately realized that there were now two trains running on the same section, and by using the line-radio he just had the time to make the second train stop before any eventual damage occurred.
