M/AUX ASTRID, a passenger sailing boat used for charter cruises, grounded on 9 June 2000 at 17.05 hours near the Villinki Island outside of Helsinki. The vessel was carrying 20 passengers and 7 crew members. The vessel could not be floated under her own power, nor with the assis-tance of a Coast Guard patrol boat. The SAR vessel ANTTI HUIMA, which arrived at the scene later, was able together with the Coast Guard patrol boat to float ASTRID at 20.30.

No one suffered any injuries. When the floating of ASTRID was delayed, the passengers were transferred at 19.45 hours to the passenger sailing boat M/AUX SVANHILD.

The vessel incurred only slight damage. No leaks were caused. The vessel was able to continue her voyage under her own power, and did not have to be dry docked.
