C6/​2003M Ms Pamela (FIN), Ground­ing South of Södertälje on 23.4.2003

The Finnish coaster ms. PAMELA run aground at 02.27 hours on March 23, 2003 south of Södertälje, Sweden. She got leakages in her forepeak. There were no other damages. As the forepeak leaked empty, PAMELA re floated without assistance. After a thorough inspection the maritime inspectorate gave permission to tow her to Stockholm for repair. It was found out that the watch keeping arrangements were not according the normal practice. Fatigue was found to be one of the contributing factors leading to this accident.
