M2014-01 M/V Sylt (AG), grounding off Rauma 11 October 2014

The Safety Investigation Authority Finland (SIAF) has decided to initiate the Marine Safety Investigation on the grounding of M/V Sylt (AG) off Rauma on 11 October 2014. The casualty did not cause injuries to personnel or environmental damages. This decision is based on the Safety Investigation Act (525/2011).

SIAF’s expert Master of Naval Architect Jaakko Lehtosalo has been nominated as the leader of the investigation group. SIAF’s experts Safety Coordinator Pia Broumand and Captain Jukka Kallio have been nominated as the members of the investigation group. Chief Marine Safety Investigator Risto Haimila acts as the investigator-in-charge of the investigation.
