Identification of locations of multiple-vehicle collisions and improvements to the location

The Finnish Transport Agency should make efforts to identify those locations along the road network where the risk of multiple-vehicle collisions is particularly high, and take the necessary countermeasures, such as building wind fences and installing electronic warning signs that can be adjusted to match changing road conditions. Typical high-risk locations are stretches of wide-open landscape, embankments with a contour that generates wind turbulence, highway sections with more than one lane going in one direction, and high average vehicle speeds and high traffic volumes.
