Smart traffic service for drivers on the worsening of local driving conditions and overall conditions

Along with the Finnish Transport Safety Agency (Trafi), the Finnish Transport Agency should develop and make widely available a service, based on intelligent transport systems, that would allow drivers to automatically and instantly obtain information on local weather conditions that might be deteriorating, as well as on multiple-vehicle collisions underway. The Finnish Meteorological Institute could provide the meteorological data required by the system. Vehicles themselves could be utilised as a data source.
