Use of seatbelts in tractors

According to Section 88 of the Road Traffic Act, the use of seatbelts in work machines and tractors is not mandatory. In this accident, the articulated hauler driver would probably have suffered less severe injuries if he had worn a seatbelt. Seatbelts should be used in tractors and work machines at least when driving in general traffic.

The Road Traffic Act must stipulate that those operating tractors and work machines must wear seatbelts when driving in traffic.
