Determination and verification of take-off mass or power reserve for helicopters used for Heli-sawing flights.

The Accident Investigation Board recommends to the Finnish Transport Safety Agency (Trafi) that when issuing permits for aerial work, they estimate a takeoff weight suitable for the helicopter type in sawing flight operations (for example 90% of MTOW / GW OGE hover standard conditions) or an otherwise determined power reserve that is sufficient and appropriate for the control of the helicopter. To verify the power reserve and any excursions above it, a helicopter used in sawing operations should be equipped with a device that records the necessary meter parameters or their displays.
